Zarafa House does not have a 24 hour desk. We can be reached each day between 6:00 am and 9:00 pm GMT+3. Please DO NOT call outside of opening hours unless it is an urgent situation.

Rates

  • You can check availability and confirm room rates in the Book Online tab
  • Our rates depend on room occupancy and season
  • Rates include 16% VAT and 2% Tourism levy
  • Kenya resident rates are valid under certain circumstances only
  • Breakfast is included in the room rate

 

Children

  • Children are welcome
  • Children up to 2 years stay free of charge, upon request a baby-cot and baby chair are provided
  • Children 2 to 12 years sharing with an adult pay 50% of the adult rate
  • Children above 12 years charged the adult rates
  • The caretakers of the children are responsible for the children’s safety in the pool area, the hotel is not liable for their safety

 

Seasons

  • Due to high demand, rates increase and minimum nights apply during high season (Easter, Christmas and New Year)
  • Low: 1st May thru 30th June
  • Regular: All other dates
  • High: Easter weekend and from 15th December until 15th January

 

Check in / Check out

  • Guests are welcome to check in between 1:00 pm and 9:00 pm
  • Check out time is 11.00 am (We need time to get the room ready for our next guests, so please be considerate of check-out time)
  • Early check in / late check out depends on availability
  • Luggage storage is available at your own risk

 

House rules

  • Maximum 3 guests per room!
  • No unregistered visitors without prior consent
  • Pets are not allowed
  • Events and parties are not permitted
  • Quiet hours from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am
  • Not self-catering
  • Smoking is only allowed outside, use of ashtrays is compulsory
  • No henna at the property as the stains are very difficult to remove from floors, furniture and linen
  • No jumping in the shallow end of the pool

 

Reservation policy

  • To confirm the reservation, please pay at least 50% deposit
  • Payment details will be supplied in your reservation email
  • Once we receive your payment, the reservation will be confirmed
  • The remaining amount is due on or before arrival

 

Payment policy

  • Quotes and invoices may be requested in Kenyan Shillings and Euro, which will be calculated using market exchange rates against our base USD rates
  • Accepted credit cards are Mastercard and Visa (Payment by credit card can attract extra charges)
  • Other acceptable payment methods: Mpesa, bank transfer and cash
  • All payment charges and costs are the responsibility of the guests
  • Special offers and promotions are marked as such
  • Zarafa House reserves the right to increase prices and will communicate same in advance

 

Cancellation policy

  • We have a strict cancellation policy since we are heavily affected by cancellations, so please make sure you have adequate travel insurance
  • Vouchers for postponing or changes in dates are issued under certain circumstances only
  • Full refund of the 50% deposit for cancellations up to 30 days before check-in
  • After that, no refund of the 50% deposit
  • In all refund cases, cost incurred will be deducted
  • All cancellations should be submitted in writing
  • In the event of a no show or reduction in the booking after the guest(s) have arrived, the full cost of the booking is charged

Disclaimer

  • The Management will not in any way whatsoever be responsible for any loss or damage to the Guest’s belongings or any other property from either the hotel room or any other part of the hotel for any cause whatsoever including theft
